I love sweets, don't you!  Hello and welcome my crafty friends!
7 Dots Studio's have created this deliciously sweet new collection called "Cotton Candy"
You can find it at Nani Ke Ola store along with "Writer's Block" here.

Today I would like to share with you a layout I created using this vibrant and whimsical paper "Strawberry Fields".

My daughter and I went to China over the summer.  Here she gives a peace sign in a beautiful garden nestled in down town Shanghai.

The butterfly chippies received a coat of gesso then a coat of all purpose glue and finally dipped in orange glitter.  Each received black gem dots.  I used a black magic marker on the word chippie then used a white pen to high light it.  The bicycle chippie was painted with yellow gelato then black marker and white pen to high light areas.

Bloom Where you are Planted

This summer I had a lovely time taking many outings with my grandson.  Here he is trying to open a fairy door attached to a tree at Bunratty Folk

Here I have used    .  Using a 12x12 sheet I used this punch all along the four sides of the paper and placed it on top of .

Now it is time to riffle through my stash and see what I can come up with to create a fun fairy land to surround my picture.

Using gelatos and water colors I have painted my chipboard pieces and set them aside.
Now I took some drywall tape and cut thin strips and run them down the paper followed by

The papers are new and the bling is blue and the dry wall tape is old.
My grandson is very "special" and dear to my heart.  He is my inspiration for this layout.

Remember When

"Remember When"

Well Autumn is in full swing and soon the leaves will display their brilliant colorful foliage to marvel and delight us.
Moms are happy that school is back in session freeing up a moment or two to sit at the craft table and let those creative juices flow!

This is my dad in his younger days.  I really didn't want to adhere anything to the picture so the top frame is put in place with just a couple of gel dots.  This is why you see the shadow on the picture.

7Dots Studio's challenge this month is all about Steampunk.
This month we would like to encourage you to create any Steampunk project. According to Wikipedia: “Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.”
September 2016 challenge
Gears and old time technology are the theme in my layout.  The colors I incorporated give it a sci fi feel I think.
I used 7 dots Studio-Yuletide collection-Sugar Plum
Domestic Goddess 6x12 Alpha Stickers
Lost and Found 6x12 Word Stickers

I love using 7 Dots Studio products.  I used a paper with a neutral background to balance all of the different color paints and masks.

For this layout I first applied my mists beginning with the blues one on top of the other blending them as they dried.  Next I came back with my yellow, copper and white making bold splashes ending with more petite splashes in blues.  This was followed by randomly applying orange modeling paste with a script mask.

Here you can see close ups of some of the many stamps I used in creating my background.

The feel of Autumn abounds in this layout.

October challenges

Magic!

Do you believe in Magic?  Autumn is such a magical time of year.  A time of "change" and delight. The days grow shorter and cooler and nature puts on brilliant show before tucking in for a long winter's nap.

The thing I love about LSG products like the ones listed below is that you can dip your paint brush to the bottom and scoop up the simmer layer as a new color to use in your design.  Then shake the bottle to combine the starburst for a whole new color. This is how I achieved the background splashes and the graduated colors on the feathers.
I was inspired by the branch and spider webs

Clam Bake Beige here
Cattail Copper Brown here

I was inspired by the pumpkin which can be seen peeking out under the fall leaf.
I used

pumpkin

Ombre and the word "Change"

shades of brown as on the feathers and from the owl branch down through the fall flowers

Fall Delight

Greetings very one, Kathleen White here with you today.  Thanks for stopping by the blog.  Today I have a new fall themed layout I would like to share with you using 7Dots Studio paper from their winter collection Yuletide.  I love this collection for its designs and versatility.  The colors are vibrant and moody which transcend the seasons.
For my layout today I have used the "Mistletoe"  from the Yuletide collection as my background.

For this layout I used:
LSG Danny Zuko's Denim here
LSG  Red Hot Poker Orange here
LSG Ponderosa Pines Olive here
LSG Blazing Sun here

For the background on this layout I began by using Tim Holtz Doily stencil and modeling paste.  Using LSG mists I came back in using a paint brush and randomly applied my colors till I was satisfied with the final results. Now I started building my centerpiece to frame my picture using 7 dots Studio " Illumination 6x6"  sheets the gray side and using a punch to create a doily edge.   Using corrugated cardboard I tore off sections then and centered them on three sides.  Then finishing it off with a scrap piece of rust cardstock.

It is hard to believe summer will soon end.  I don't know about you but I  personally love fall and look forward to cooler days, falling leaves and long hikes in the woods.  So it is fare to" say I "delight" in the autumn season.

I selected the recipe challenge
1. tags
  2. flares
     3. flowers
 4. mists

I found a set of old black decals in my stash which are perfect to show off those beautiful colors.

Thoughts of You

Thoughts of You

I would like to thank a very lovely commenter for suggesting that perhaps another picture would enhance this layout more than the one I had originally chosen.  She was right.  Thank you Di for your expert eye. So I decided to make this into a flip book to show my girls then and now.

This is my first time entering a Prima Build a Page sketch.  I used Prima; Mechanical, Micro Beads Berry.

My inspiration began with More than Words challenge this month using circles and the word Friend.
This is a picture of my daughters when they were young.  Though they now live far apart they still remain close friends.  The main circle are clocks which signify the passing of time.

I loved the idea of incorporating metallic colors to this layout as challenged by 7 Dots Studios .  I began by using
7 dots Studio Cold Country papers.  I used gold mica flakes which cascade down and over the page like rays of sunshine.
