Friends

I love this picture of my daughter and Eloise.  Such good friends.  It is always heartbreaking when the girls have to leave.  Eloise keeps searching the house for them and curling up in their beds hoping they will return by night fall.  Since this picture was taken outside I wanted to keep the papers neutral yet feminine.
I punctured the maid paper with a large needle and threaded baby yarn through it making sure there was a knot at the end to prevent it from coming back through.  I also made sure to tape the thread on the back for extra measure.  I wrapped the large pink flower with yarn that has long threads hanging out for a whispy effect.
The main band of paper is folded on the ends and glued down in the middle giving a bow affect.  The picture frame paper is glued on top of some sturdy yet thin cardboard so that it would not bend in the middle.  I used white enamel paint to create pearls on the edges of the papers.

Family time

This is such a special and beautiful picture of my niece and her family.

I had such fun with this layout.   Over the holidays I acquired a few new items including masks, gelatos, papers to name a few.  These challenges have given me the inspiration and opportunity to give these new items a whirl!
I wanted to keep things soft and neutral.

I just love how this mask and used my new gelato with it.
Here I used a clock mask and even made my own masking paste!

Country boy

Even though this picture was taken in D.C. proper I have titled this layout "Country boy".  Brendan hops from country to country yet loves to live in the country.  He has now gone to his "new" post.

XOXO Scrapbooking is back and better than ever!  I am pleased to be a new member of their inaugural design team.  We have decided to get back to our 'Scraplifting' roots. For the first half of this year one DT member will scrap a page and the rest of us will scraplift it. This way we can show our styles and how one page idea can create so many options.

I scrap lifted from Tess's layout.

I have just discovered this "new" challenge site Southern Girls challenge.  They asked for all things "new" for their January challenge.  This paper collection is "new" for me.
I also enter this into BAP January challenge with 90% or more of this layout being made of Prima Marketing materials.

Materials used
Prima Marketing Londonerry paper collection

Prima Marketing wooden pieces

To us!

Friday, September 13, 2013  sounds ominous doesn't it.  A day for superstitions.  Avoiding black cats, going around rather than under a ladder etc.  Not this day!  This day was for rejoicing and celebration.  My son finally got married!!  The bride is a beautiful Irish lass.  They married in Ireland and the fairies came out to party with us.

Merly Impressions challenge was to scrap your favorite 2013 moment.
Scrap Around the World has a lovely mood board that inspired this layout .
The lace and bling are reminiscent of the  scalloped edges on the teacups.

The colors I selected were from the flowers in the bicycle basket.  The swiss dots mask and white lace came from the white flower bouquet.

Material used
Prima Marketing Romantique Collection, Hillary and Ha' Penny papers
Prima Marketing  antique mirror piece
Prima Market vintage trinket heart and love piece
Prima Marketing flowers
Miscellaneous pieces from my stash to include laces, ribbons, dot mask and bling.

Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  I hope you have enjoyed your visit and will come back again soon.

1972

Once upon a time long long ago in a far away land live this girl you see below.  Time just slips by and we never seem to notice until we look back on old photos of ourselves.

I had such fun creating this layout with a ton of layers, flowers, bling and things.
As you can see this layout is full to the brim so I put the journaling on the back.

Prima Marketing was holding a warehouse sale last month of which I availed myself.  I received a package filled to over flowing with so many gorgeous things including these papers.  The colors reminded me of this dress I wore in high school.  And this collection was perfect for layering.

I am entering this into "Once Upon A Sketch".
Also in January Sketch it Girl January challenge.  I used a star.
Artastic has a challenge using triangles which I have used in my bling banner.

Thank you for stopping by to see what the papers are saying today.  Tomorrow I will add more when I am feeling better.

Christmas morning

I retrieved these photos from my mother's album.  They bring back such fond memories.

I am entering this into Creative Scrappers sketch challenge #259.

Smile & enjoy life is a positive approach to the new year.  This will be another momentous year for me.  I'M GOING TO BE AN OMA!!!!

This is my first time entering a Sketchabilities challenge.  This is sketch #106.

I used Tando mask and a lime green chalk to bring color around the page.
I just love this gold fairy gently blowing a kiss to bring a smile to her face.
"SMILE" is the word I chose for Berry 71 blue January word challenge.
