                   Merry Christmas (Creative Embellishment DT)

Merry Christmas everyone!!!  Kathleen here to share this Christmas layout I made for my beautiful Southern Belle of a sister.  Have you ever seen a Mark Roberts fairy?  Well this layout is like one of those filled with tons of color and things to delight the senses like these delicious Creative Embellishment snowflakes, ornament and tree.

All of the chipboard elements received a coat of gesso followed by a coat of different gorgeous Shimmerz paints.

Bling, you can't Christmas/holidays without sparkle.  I applied different colored gems and flourishes through out.  I just wish you could see the sparkle in person.  The camera just doesn't do it justice!
Here are a few close ups.

Scrap Africa asked us to journal what a typical December is like where we live.  This is a time for family gathering together enjoying good food, music, laughter and loads of love.  Since my family is scattered in the wind I don't get to see all of them in the same year.  I hope you all are enjoying your holiday traditions.
Thank you for joining me and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

                                    Mother Goose

Fancy Oval Frame SetFancy Oval frame set Branches (set of 3)Branch set

I love the month of December!  It is the perfect month for children young and old.  So I thought this would be a perfect time to create a layout filled snips and snails and puppy dog tails!  I also created my first snapguide and pray it works!  Of course the main feature are these incredible Creative Embellishments chippies!  The frame received a layered paint treatment while the branch was kept simple with muted colors that sparkle!

Close ups
The frame was first given a coat of green ink then edged in Shimmerz texturez  Mari-Gold-Digger follwed by Blingz Pixie Dust and tipped with white gesso.
Here is a close up of the chippies. The Branches were lightly touched with brown inks and given a generous coat of the Pixie Dust.  There was a "lot" of fussy cutting, layering and pop dots for this creation.

Winter Wonderland

                              Winter Wonderland

Just a very quick blog note before I run off on vacation to see my daughter graduate!  I just had to do a layout for my favorite monthly challenges.  I hope you like it.  The icicles were made with dry wall tape .

I loved the blues with a spot of red and lovely snowflakes.

The color room  use wrapping paper.  One of the red leaves is made from wrapping.  My daughter woke up looked under the tree and yelled, " Mom what happened to this present!"  lol  Yes, I took it from an already wrapped gift.  I just didn't have time to look anywhere else.

Sugar Plum

                                Sugar Plum

Merry Christmas everyone!  May your holiday season be bright and merry filled with love and good cheer.  I found these old Christmas papers way down in my paper pile and thought they would be perfect for these fabulous Creative Embellishment chippie I have the privilege to work with each month.

My husband suggested I should put a red dot on the reindeer's nose.  I rather like the look.  One of my bead garlands started falling apart so I gathered up the loose pieces for this layout.

A bit of lace, tons of bling and everything covered with an assortment of Shimmerz products make a magical landscape.

There is nothing sweeter than young love especially at Christmas.  I have tucked the journaling on the back.  It tells of the bitter sweet memories this photo brings.  My daughter's new life with this wonderful man and our last Christmas in San Antonio before moving to Dallas.

It is with a very sad heart that I also learned that Once Upon a Sketch has announced this will be there last challenge.  I would like to thank all the ladies there that have inspired me each month.  I have learned so much from this site and am sadden to say goodbye.  I wish you well and Merry Christmas.

December challenge; use a stencil or mask

                              (Creative Embellishments DT)

Ohhhhhh I am so ready for December and the holidays, how about you!!   Kathleen here wishing you a very merry stress free month.  Just breathe and take in all of the wonderful sights and sounds.  My new grandson turns six months and it is his first Christmas.  So, I thought I would create a winter wonderland canvas filled with yummy CE chippies!

We have a Mickey Mouse train that runs around under our Christmas tree which I love.  Creative Embellishments had this Christmas train  which is my focal and starting off point for this canvas.  I applied a coat of gesso then starting painting the cars with Shimmerz Inklings peppermint twist, miner, miner 49er and emerald city.  The trees received a smuggy layer of Shimmerz Texturez artie choked.

My daughter was trying to sell llama paintings to raise money for her college's medical missionary trip this summer.  She had leftovers and I decided to recycle the.  This is an 11x14" canvas. I ripped a piece of Webster's paper Sweet Seasons at an angle and cropped off two inches on the side to give an opening down the center .  Here I used a dot stencil and applied a mask which I also added on the edges.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

            Happy Thanksgiving Day {Creative Embellishment}

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  The holidays are all about family whether near or far we always hold them close in our hearts.  So I thought I would share with you this old family photo of my father(wearing the Indian head feather), my grandmother and her sisters, their dad and my aunt as a baby on his lap.

I used two incredible Creative Embellishment chippies.  For the Doily Frame I simply applied a coat of brown ink to intensify the natural color.   The Fall Leaves which are tucked into the flowers where simply inked green.  The Happy Thanksgiving Day title was given a light coat of brown ink then I softly stroked the tips of the title words with Shimmerz Meet me @ Sunset Inklingz.

A few close ups to enjoy.

The papers are from the Graphic 45 Eerie Tales collection.  They are so versatile.  I used multiple layers and distressing.  Hope you enjoyed what you see!!
